Margaret A. Edwards Award
The Margaret A. Edwards Award was established in 1988. It honors an author and a specific work (or works) that has contributed significantly to young adult literature. It is presented by the Young Adult Library Services Association and sponsored by School Library Journal.
Margaret A. Edwards served as a librarian at Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore for thirty years. She saw a need to connect young adults with literature with book talks, career fairs, and other programs just for young adults. More information about the award and Margaret Edwards can be found at this site. Below is the list of winners and the books honored. |
