Kyle has it all: good looks, friends, girlfriend, money, popularity, etc. However, he is full of himself and when he treats Kendra poorly by standing her up at the dance, things change for him. She reveals to him that she is a witch and as punishment she turns him into a beast. She notes that he did give a rose corsage to Lindy so she gives him two years to find someone to fall in love with and who will love him for him and not his looks. This follows the Beauty and the Beast fairytale rather closely. It was a quick and fun story to read. Not only did I enjoy reading the "Beast's" point of view, but I liked the modern day twist. I recommend this book for teens and adults who enjoy fairy tales adaptations.
